Summary: Location double and triple charged storage for U-boxes that were not at their location. Continue to charge after U-boxes were delivered and returned. Management did not care. Use this or any Uhaul U-box service at your own peril.
Detail: Rented U-boxes for a move to another state. Two days before to pick up the U-boxes, the location told us that the two box trailer was not available. It had been stolen months ago and not replaced. Then moved our pickup to the 35th Ave location. Once we packed and returned the U-boxes, they went back to the Litchfield Park location for a few days and were shipped out.
One month later, the Litchfield part charged storage rent on the two boxes, four times to our credit card. When we called U-Haul to fix this, it took being on hold for 2 hours over 3 calls to get this fixed. But it was not fixed and no refund happened. After 4 more calls, and talking to another manager at 35th Ave location. Some of the charges were corrected and our credit card was removed from the system to prevent future charges.
Two weeks later, the Litchfield Park location tried to bill two more storage charges. But because no credit card was on file, the mailed out on the same day both Late payment bills and Pre-Lien Notice bills. We received 4 new bills for items that were already returned to U-haul. Talked to the manager and he took the position this was our fault. The manager failed to follow up with the wrong charges, called back several times, no response. Finally, manager corrected the paperwork issue and called to say no more charges were to happen. No apology for their error, just told us it was fixed.
