| - I was excited to come here based on all the reviews. I met my boyfriend after work as we both work nearby, and I left feeling bad for having had wasted our time here.
Disclaimer: We just got back two days ago from San Francisco where we were wowed by service and quality by all price levels of dining, (We did try a couple amazing Italian restaurants as well) ...so maybe that combined with these reviews, we had high expectations.
The food: He had the flatiron and I had the gnudi, my dish was just okay. His was inedibly rare in some places and had to spit out a piece that was completely charred.. so there's that care and attention. The caprese appetizer wasn't provided with bread, which I thought was strange. Overall, the quality was just okay, but it was pretty inexpensive. So, I guess we got what we paid for.
The service: Our waiter was inattentive and seemed bothered by having to serve us. He spoke really fast and quiet and I had to call him back from rushing away to ask a question I still had, at one point. We put our entree order in with the appetizer and it still took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get our food. They seriously weren't that busy for this to be okay.
The icing on cake: I bought a living social for the app, entrees, dessert and dessert drinks. All we got to order was the app and entrees bc it took so long, and the waiter never bothered to ask about dessert things bc he was inattentive. I had to go ask inside about redeeming the deal as I never got the email from living social with the barcode. I showed them my confirmation page, and they suggested I call living social, (I did, and they were closed), then they asked to see my bank statement.. I wasn't sure it would show so soon; but it did, and they still told me they couldn't do anything. So we paid for the deal, the full price of our dinner which exceeded the deal, AND had a crappy "Italian" dinner. Furthermore, nobody took the time to apologize for the inconvenience; and we weren't rude about it. I felt like THEY felt inconvenienced by US.
It was supposed to be a romantic/fun date night.. We caught a movie after next door at the dine-in amc, we should have just had dinner at the theatre.
