I signed up for a 4 night free stay at one of their resorts for $99 at the Boulder Creek festival. When I called to book for a Cabo resort they said it would require an paid upgrade of $149 which I was not told when I originally booked it. I decided to stay in the US to avoid the upgrade fee. I was assigned a sales rep to make my arrangements. We booked a hotel in Miami The Penguin Hotel which normally costs $250/night. We had a view of the alley but we liked the location just a few min. walk to the beach across the street and everyone was nice. The timeshare presentation rep. wasted so much time making small talk (45 min.) before I complained that our time was nearly up and she hadn't even explained the offer yet. We were stuck in the presentation for 3.5 hours total and I had to be VERY assertive in saying "No we are not interested we need to leave now." because they keep making you talk to more and more sales reps. That part sucked as they should keep their word in finishing the sales pitch within the 90-120 min. timeframe. All these timeshare presentations run way over. We thought the cost of the membership was very expensive $80,000 and went down to as low as $10,000 with different deals but we didn't feel the value was there. As a gift, we got a $100 Visa gift card which couldn't be activated on the website and I had to call a manager to get it activated but I spent it all. Overall, I am very happy with my 4 nights in Miami Beach for free. DRI kept all their promises and if I had to do it again I would. I don't know if our experience is an anomaly or if only those who have a bad experience post on Yelp. But my opinion is honest and true. You can see my reviews of other companies and I don't give 5 stars with great frequency.
