I stumbled across Urban Necessities while on Facebook one day. I soon followed and eventually added them to my Instagram and Twitter to keep up on the updated inventory of shoes they're receiving daily. I've been waiting a long time for a legit consignment store to appear in Vegas. It's very difficult seeing Flight Club in L.A and New York and Rif LA have great success and wonder why no one has yet to open a store like that in Las Vegas. Before deciding to go check out the store, I watched a YouTube video of Jaysee (one of the co-owners) give a store tour and talk about the store in great length. Right away, I could tell he was passionate about not only the store, but the sneaker culture and people who would shop in the store.
After deciding I would go check out the store, I took 2 pairs of sneakers with me in hopes of being able to consign them and get some cash. I was greeted by Joanie who talked about the store, the upcoming events, and just gave me a great idea of what the store was about and the vision they're pushing it towards. Immediately, I was impressed because many times you can walk into a small business or some sneaker store and the only thing they care about is getting your money. I felt like Urban Necessities was more than that.
After one week of my shoes being on consignment, I received an email stating I could come down to the store to pick up my check for the shoes that were sold. When I showed up I was surprised to find out they had sold both pairs of my shoes within ONE WEEK. I honestly expected for the shoes to sit and get an email saying I could come pick up my shoes because no one wanted them. LOL
Urban Necessities is a great store for any person looking to find those grails or just want to pick up a pair of shoes for cheap. From what I've also seen, local clothing brands are also sold within the store. They also offer restoration which I will soon take advantage of. I need my Nike sub space jams to have that icy sole again and I'm too lazy to do it myself. LOL
Everyone in Vegas needs to support this store so they can continue to grow and open outside of Boulevard mall into their own brick and mortar. I hardly ever write reviews for anything, but this is definitely a store that needs support from Vegas locals and Tourist coming into town looking to pick up a pair of sneakers.
