  • Avoid this place at all costs. I have made many mistakes so far in choosing places to live while attending ASU, but this place might just be the biggest one. Now, I will start with the pros, because there are some good things about living here. The gym here is awesome if you are actually a lifter. They have a squat rack, a bench, and pretty heavy dumbbells. This was an original selling point for me. The apartments are also spacious and the complex itself is fairly quiet. For a graduate student like myself, this is a real selling point. As for the negatives, there are many. To begin with, they are horrible at answering the phones. If you need to get ahold of them, you might as well just go in person if you don't want try calling 10 times. The apartments aren't super well maintained, but they aren't the worst I've been in. There is a speed bump that might as well just be a 10ft by 10ft hole, because it scrapes the bottom of any non-lifted car at even the slowest of speeds. As far as I can tell, other residents have told me that it has been that way forever and complains have gotten nowhere. They also have a lot of trouble telling the truth. The first problem came after a bank error. My bank's website crashed when I transferred money and I had suspicion that my rent didn't go through. I went to the office and they told me that the rent went through and it was all good. Four days later I have a notice on my door saying that my payment didn't go through and I owe $50 a day in late fees and am no longer allowed to use checks. Needless to say I was livid, but chose to chock it up as my own banking error. But the problems didn't end. They have a clause in their contract saying they can change the contract at any time, which they will surely do to make the most money they can out of you. Trying to sublet my apartment has been the biggest nightmare of my entire life, and much of it would have been avoided had they told us the truth from the beginning. First we were told they they allow sublets and that a lease can be broken with 2 months rent. Then we were told that you can't ever break a lease and that sublets are really just replacement leases. Now we are told that these leases mean nothing and that we are still responsible for the rent of the rooms even though an entirely NEW lease was signed. Everyone you talk to will give you a different answer here. The same person will claim they told you something different. You need to get everything in writing here, and signed by an employee. This will come in handy if you ever need to catch them in their lies. This place does NOT carry itself like a legitimate business and I will be sure to tell everyone I know who is looking into this place to look elsewhere. A trailer in the trailer park next door would be a better option.
