That is not the problem. The water tastes fine.
Per Samsung, things can be done. Your tech did nothing when he was at my home except check the temperature of the fridge, freezer, and drink drawer. Samsung is sending someone else to address the issue, and indicated that they did not/should not have advised you nothing can be done... or that other odors from my house is causing a smell in the ice maker different from any other smell in my house.
Further, after contacting Samsung, they determined that a service visit was appropriate. Unfortunately it was the same company to call to set it up, Buy-Rite. Upon recognizing it was me, the owner advised that nothing could be done and cancelled all further service appointments for me. Luckily Samsung is having a specialist call me, because they believe this is an issue, and that it warrants actual service. They also advised that we should not consume the ice until the problem is resolved as it may not be safe for consumption.
