  • Room Service is the Cleveland renaissance personified. A sleek and creative locally infused boutique, Room Service focuses on Cleveland inspired wares from t-shirts to silk screen prints. Along with this local flavor, RS incorporates a multitude of other urban, cosmopolitan pieces from around the globe. When I visited, a recent trip to France had inspired the owner to showcase Parisian street maps and various other adorable French accoutrements. Not that New York should be the standard by which all such stores are judged, but I have searched through the Village, Soho, Williamsburg, Park Slope, and other neighborhoods for such a place, and no such one exists. Room Service is hip without being pretentious and shows that local Cleveland taste doesn't have to mean decorating a furnished basement with a shrine to the Browns. As someone trying to relocate to the Cleveland area, Room Service did much more than ensure that I would have a place to find the perfect pieces to decorate my apartment; it reassured me that inventive and exciting opportunities exist on the Cuyahoga and that Cleveland is finally taking down its "Do Not Disturb" sign to artistic and creative talent. Room Service is at the door.
