| - I grew up on Einstein Bagels. They were my staple post run meal on Saturday mornings. When I set foot in this one I realized how much had changed. We were not early birds this morning, so we did not get the first pick of the bagels (our fault), so I tried something new as the 6 cheese bagel was out. I ordered a sun dried tomato bagel with plain cream cheese and a slice of tomato.
We took a seat in the window looking out into the parking lot, and as a attempted to lift my arm from the table, I realized how sticky it was... and not just in my spot, but the entire length of the counter. Ugh! In looking around... there wasn't a table that didn't have litter from past customers occupying space on the table or remnants of residue. So, I decided that I would just eat standing.
But back to the bagel. The bagel itself was great- but I can't say that it was toasted, it was more or less "warmed," no crunch or slight browning to speak off. And my tomato was mealy, I know it's winter, but it was just not palatable.
This is not the same Einstein I remember and loved, maybe it was just a busy morning for them? Everyone has bad days, right?
