How much fun is this spot?!? My dog and I had a blast hanging out here for hours on a Sunday afternoon. The facility is practically spotless. Quiet a feat considering the place is overrun with hundreds of dogs every day. They had mops, hoses, water canisters and poop bags all over the place. And, all the dog owners I saw were being super responsible about cleaning up after their pets. There were lots of water stations all over for he dogs and I was impressed to see they were all kept iced down on the incredibly hot day. They also have a few "elements" for dogs to play on like plastic slides, ramps, etc. Only thing lacking were a few kiddie pools for the dogs to splash in.
It was slightly confusing to navigate on my first visit, so let me give you a few friendly tips...
There are 2 entrances. Assuming you're looking for beer, you want the one on the left (facing the building). There's a sign that says '21 and Over Only' or something like that. Some parking right in front of the building. They have an overflow lot (marked by a construction sign) right across the street.
Keep your dog leashed as you head in. The bar area is a leashed zone. There are 2 play areas inside -- air conditioned!! -- one for small dogs and one free for all. There's also a nice, big outdoor play area. You can unleash your pups in those 3 spots.
Don't bring in any outside beverages. Not even water. Something about the ABE laws. Anywho, no big deal. They'll give you as much ice water as you and your dog can drink Their beer selection is fantastic! So, leave anything else drinkable in the car. You won't go thirsty.
They don't serve food and there was no food truck there when we stopped in Sunday at lunch time. Postmates to the rescue! We ordered 2 pizzas from Librettos and were feasting in half an hour from the time we place the order.
I have a sneaking suspicion Lucky Dog is going to be our new favorite hang out!
