  • There are some things to really like about CLT but there are also some negatives. Most of the negatives are just due to this being a large and very busy airport. The Good - Parking has greatly improved thanks to the new parking garages - Rental car services are at the airport (versus offsite like some others) - Nice and modern airport - Love the walking sidewalks in the terminals - Lots of food options - For most of the places I fly to, I can get a direct flight out of CLT The Suck - Driving to CLT just sucks. Doesn't matter if you are coming from I77 or I85. - Airport traffic when you get here sucks ass - The airport is always jammed, which really sucks if you have a tight layover, or rushing to check in and get through security Advice Most of my connections (when flying through CLT) always seem to require me to catch my next flight at a gate in another terminal. My advice is do NOT schedule flights with short layovers (45 minutes or less) or you could get screwed. This airport is normally jammed packed with folks and trying to run through it to another terminal is tough work.
