| - My boys and I had an impromptu Monday night out and was looking for something to do. One of them suggested to come here as he's been here before with some friends visiting from out of the province and had a good time. I, on the other hand, have heard a mix of things. A friend who is a York Region police officer tells me he has a few places he definitely avoids in Markham, this being one of them. Yet, I was told there was a Yelp event here a while back, so it can't be that bad.
Having lived in the UK for a while, you'd think I would have picked up darts, but no. This was the first time I've ever played darts, maybe it's also because no one should trust me with a throwing pointed object. The dart boards at iDarts are digital, so it uses plastic darts heads. You don't need to have your own darts either, you can put a $5 deposit and your driving license and rent some darts, and they have replacement dart heads if they get too wonky.
Each round of darts, per person is a loonie ($1) and you can select different type of games to play. We chose to play the rounds with the most points, so it would last longer.
As it was a boys night out, we also ordered some food and drinks, drinks were fine, but food was meh. We had nachos, and some wings, and they weren't that great and the portion sizes were a bit small for how much they were charging for it.
There was a female staff behind the reception desk and a staff at the bar, but didn't really notice anyone else really working there. I'm pretty sure that the staff invited their friends and were playing with them, maybe that's why it took at least 30 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, half of it was burnt. Friends also decided to go order their own drinks at the bar.
I really want to give this a 2-star, but ultimately, there's nowhere else quite like iDarts. If you just want to hang with your friends doing something pretty fun for a couple of hours without spending a whole lot of money, this is the place, just don't order the food.
