Oh David's, where do I start. I had been to another David's in IL so I sort of knew the process when I went to the Madison store. They usually have one consultant for two brides. They are skilled at timing it so that while they are helping one bride, they leave the other one in the gown for a little while. I actually like this because it gives me plenty of time to feel out each dress.
What I didn't like about the Madison store was my consultant. She found some great dresses for me, but she kept making comments like "Well you know if she can't commit to the dress she can't commit to the marriage" and "Ohh but you MUST have a veil this is the only time he'll get to see you in a veil!!". Seriously? I could wear a paper bag to my wedding and my marriage would still be just fine, thanks. Her comments really rubbed me the wrong way and gave me a bad taste about David's and wedding consultants in general.
I felt like she was trying to use the fact that this is a special time in my life to push my buttons to get me to buy a dress that day. I get that you are trying to make a sale and that's fine, but brides beware that this is going on and don't rush into a dress you aren't 110% sure about!!
