| - 11-5-17. I have been a regular at Legacy for about 15 years. If you are a local, you know that the course was sold and closed, pending development on the site. Due to legal issues, the devopment plan was blocked, at least temporarily. A few months later, the course re-opened, and My group played it a couple days ago.
Pros- The course itself is in better condition than I can remember. The fairways are lush and the greens are great. This MAY be because of lack of play. (It's only been open again for 3 weeks) The sand traps have been re-sanded with actual sand, instead of the gravel pits they had been. So the course played great.
Cons - No flags on the range. No windshields or coolers on the carts. No water coolers anywhere on the course. No beverage cart on the course. No Marshal on the course. The hall washers on the course hadn't seen water in months. The bathrooms are broken and disgusting. And of course you need a mouth guard and kidney belt while riding along some parts of the cart paths.
Summary - Some of the things mentioned above are small, easy and inexpensive fixes, yet are still problems. One would think that if the new owners are serious about a re-launch, AT LEAST the inexpensive things would have been taken care of before their grand re-opening.
Sadly, this smacks of a half hearted attempt at a re-opening, ONLY to show that the course is a money loser. If they can show that, I'm guessing they will say "I told you so" then try again for the land development.
