| - Wow. Flew Porter IAD-YTZ for a long weekend in Toronto. Both flights were on time. Seats were comfortable. The 32 inch pitch is more than you get in coach on any major airline. The Q400 turboprop was quiet - especially on the trip back, when we were in row 6. On the way to Toronto, we were in row 13, which was closer to the props, and a bit louder. The free beer - or wine served in a glass - was a nice touch. The lounge at Billy Bishop is awesome, with free coffee, free capuccino, free soft drinks, free pastry, free almonds, and free newspapers, along with plush seats. And the lounge itself is free to all passengers. But the biggest plus is Billy Bishop Airport. There's a free shuttle bus to take you the few blocks to Union Station and the Royal York Hotel, and from there, we were able to walk to our hotel (the Hilton) in less than five minutes. I really enjoyed the convenience of landing in downtown Toronto, and saving the time and the fifty bucks that I would have spent landing at Pearson. The only regret is that we didn't have the chance to use the passenger tunnel. We snuck a peek behind the black curtain, but it was scheduled to open ten days after our return trip. Oh, well. Next time, I guess! I heart Porter.
