  • I have fallen back in love with the Winking Lizard. I've been swooned by Black Bean Burger and the Thirsty Dog Whippet Wheat. I expected an average Morningstar patty when I placed my order, but I was recieved was a real house made black bean veggie burger with beans, rice, and veggies topped with cheese, veggies, and onion straws. It was perfect! I went back two weeks later just to have it again...but this is where I failed. I thought, "I'll try something different since the burger was SO good!" I orderd the mushroom and sandwhich and was disapointed. It was paltry compared to the glorious black bean burger. There were a few vegetables, not much seasoning and a lot of bread. Love the atmosphere at the Independence location. It has a space for everyone. Sit down dining for families, a more rowdy indoor bar area, patio seating, and a patio bar. And it looks like the patio bar has those garage door walls/windows that make it great for fall outdoor seating too. Good beer, good food, good service, good stuff.
