I heard a lot about Cha Me Cha's Taiwanese Snow Ice, not to be confused with shaved ice. The most mentioned offering is the $6.99 serving, but it might be a surprise to some that there is actually a $4.99 offering too!
Tonight I gave the green tea snow ice a try. The texture is very satisfying to the mouth, very soft and strand-like. It doesn't melt quick either so there isn't a feeling of needing to rush through things. Another reviewer mentioned the green tea flavour carrying a bit of bubble gum taste. I came into this with that expectation, but was pleasantly surprised to not find that. The green tea flavour is light, just enough to let you know it is green tea but not overpowering. This may, or may not be your cup of tea. Strong flavour usually might mean lots of artificial flavouring. It isn't too sweet, which is good. The condensed milk maintains the right balance of sweetness. The portion is massive and is still more than enough for two people to enjoy.
This place isn't loud at all, at least not on Saturday 6:26 pm. It is a good place to take someone special for dessert and chatting. Parking space is plentiful and free.
Another reviewer mentioned that don't take credit cards but I was able to use mine. Maybe they got a working machine now?
Overall it was a nice and quiet experience. I would bring more friends over.
