| - This is about the Goodwill located on Southern, at the corner or Southern and Val Vista.
I see the prices go WAY up when the snowbirds come back to town. They want $130.00 for used desks - small ones 4 ft x 2.5 ft - just because they don't have scratches on them. They had everything priced about DOUBLE what it normally is last week. And I'm not talking the random stupid pricing mistake because someone didn't know what it was...I'm talking almost everything in there. Furniture with huge scratches or gouges, and they are wanting twice what I see if for in most goodwills. For example, small beat up 3 shelf bookshelfs...they had $39.99 on them, MORE than a brand new price! End tables with huge stains on them they wanted $29.99 for! A 3 shelf steel rolling cart, they wanted 70 bucks for...you can buy one brand new just like it for 10 bucks more. Even hand tools...they were wanting almost a new price for and the tools were wore out. They had 90 bucks on a pair of medium size tower speakers...you can buy them new for about 100 just about anywhere.
They have no facility for testing their TV's. They are at least twice as much as any goodwill on TV's.
But the worst is:
I went there last week. I picked up 3 items, with $2, $2, and $4 price tags on them. Right before I got up to checkout, I noticed that the disks I had in my hand had two price tags on them, $1.99 and 3.99. I only saw the $1.99 at first. I told the cashier and showed her. I said I'd take them at the $1.99 but because there were two tags, that if they want the $3,99 I would pass and they could put them back on the shelf. She took the $1.99 tag off, and stuck it on top of the $3.99...BUT she had already scanned the $3.99 tag before she did, as well as the other items.
I handed her my card, she rang up and said $11.96. I said, No that doesn't seem right, looks like you scanned the larger tag on those two. She looked at the receipt and said yes she did, then she wanted me to SIGN the erroneous receipt. I said, No, I'm not going to sign that, it is the wrong price, it should be $3,99 + 1.99 + 1.99. She said, well you have to sign it...I said, NO I'm not signing any receipt that is incorrect and allowing you to charge me wrong on my card. She got huffy and said Well I'm just doing my job! I said Well, I understand that, but I refuse to sign an incorrect receipt, you can reverse that in your register. She called a manager over to do it, and told him she needed to do a refund in the register.
He looked at her like he was mad, and with me standing right there in front of them, he told her with MUCH attitude, "I don't have TIME to help you I'm doing something over there!" At that time I just looked at them both, put my card in my wallet and said FINE, you guys work it out, I'm done. And I walked out.
Then I called the bank as soon as I got home because the charge was showing pending. Bank said don't worry about it, wait 3 days, and it should drop off when they don't request payment because you didn't sign the CC Receipt. If it doesn't, call us and we will deal with them. Well, it DIDN'T, they UNLAWFULLY charged my bank without having a proper signed receipt.
Now my bank is going to have to reverse the charge.
DO NOT SHOP HERE. Not only are they trying to GOUGE people with ridiculously high prices on almost everything compared to other goodwills in the area, they are DISHONEST and have a real big attitude about helping people. Managers should NEVER be like that jerk was.
