| - This little Filipino market saves me a trip all the way to Seafood City when I need to pick up specialty ingredients for baking and desserts. I came in with buko pandan flavoring and green jelly on my shopping list, and left with McCormick buko pandan extract, a jar of jelly cubes, and a pound of MSG (my husband was excited to see this-- it's labeled as Peruvian Super Seasoning at Cardenas for a reason.) It's so much easier to find what I need here and check out without wasting time, and the man who works here is always friendly. Prices are great, too. Each item I picked out was only $2-$3.
You will find a small selection of produce, frozen foods, staple ingredients, a few bakery items, and all kinds of snack foods, including Pinoy spaghetti flavored corn chips. They also have pinipig and all your halo-halo essentials. I was happy to come across unsweetened calamansi juice in the freezer section, as well as some interesting flavors of Magnolia ice cream. If you're shopping for fresh seafood and meat, have fun at Seafood City. Grab some Jollibee while your their and let the fusion flavors dance on you're palette. (I wrote that with my red pen.)
Finished product: the coconut cupcakes with buko pandan frosting pictured below. The green gummy bears are a personal touch :) Happy Birthday, Mel!
