| - Oh my god, I have never experienced ruder sales associates and staff.
My initial impression was that the staff was just a little aggressive - I got more of a glare than a 'hi' from the greeter at the door, and the second I picked up an article of clothing I would get approached by associate after associate asking if I wanted a fitting room.
When I was in the fitting room trying stuff on, I was kind of shocked by what I was hearing:
1. Sales associates loudly talking smack about other sales associates - complaining about how some take too long breaks, or how some are bi***hy, etc, etc.
2. Complaining and insulting customers, in the fitting room where other customers can hear them. I kid you not, one of the sales associates was complaining that a "whale" kept asking her to get larger sizes of clothes. As she said to another sales associate: 'Like seriously, if you're such a whale you should just stop kidding yourself and get the large instead of making me switch out your mediums"
3. Two sales associates got into a weird verbal fight in the fitting room. Something about bringing a bunch of clothes to cashwrap. It was really awkward for all of us inside the rooms forced to listen.
4. I asked a sales associate to bring me a pair of XXS shorts, and she goes "are you sure?" to which I replied in the affirmative. She then comes back and brings me a pair of shorts in size S. Seriously?!?!?! Passive aggressive much?
5. We tried on a bunch of clothes and decided to only take half of them, so we handed what we didn't want (maybe around 6 hangers) to the sales associate at the fitting room, and her response was "you don't want ALL of these?" in a judgey voice.
Even generally, I don't really like Aritzia too much because they size up really weirdly - massive size inflation. I'm usually a S/M and here I can fit into an XXS. But this one was filled with particularly catty and rude sales associates.
