| - Unfriendly, expensive, confusing packages. Sad we paid for anything here, but we were under a deadline, so an "extra" star for being open.
While the appointment started on time, and the facility was clean and well lit.. the rest of the experience was a let down.
Portrait Innovations thrives on photography packages that are (apparently) focused on various seasonal specials. This means: Photographers are rushed and eager to push you through the poses that have been trained to capture. Whether or not those photographs are appropriate, lit correctly, or what the customer wants are not relevant.
Mysteriously, none of the supposed "variety" of backgrounds are available.. and half our session was wasted taking pictures that were lit incorrectly, on a background entirely incompatible with the subjects.
The conduct of the photographer was appallingly poor. Not only was she condescending and belligerent, she was unskilled and disrespectful to one of the children.. When we pointed out that at particular set up would not work for us, the response was that she "had too" take these pictures... which resulted in embarrassingly poor pictures of darling children who were compliant, non-complaining and well behaved.
Less than a minute of brainstorming, and one of the kids figured out a way to take the picture the way the photographer was demanding without messing with our little "challenge." (One of the kids was in a cast, and did not want the cast in the pictures.. which was easily done with the strategic placement of a prop.)
The photographers behavior, tone and speech were extremely offensive.
In the end, i paid for the pictures because i was from out of town.. but it was traumatic for the other adults. We got the ONE photo we really wanted, the rest was a wash... very very expensive.
After we made it clear that the photographers conduct was unacceptable, another photographer "helped" us finalize our purchase. He was civil and well mannered, considering the awkward situation his co-worker forced him into.
Pro
- Open business, has cameras
- Has changing rooms
- has a bathroom
- Does print on site, so if you are desperate, and need pics now...
Cons:
- See above. Endless list.
- Props are limited, not current, damaged etc.
- See above about the deportment of the staff... bad manners and low skilled
