The setting itself at DPOV is magical. It is great news that the food is equally as wonderful.
We dined outside on a beautiful evening. We were offered delicious focaccia bread with 3 fun spreads to start, while we sipped our drinks and enjoyed the view. We next shared the grilled endive salad. The grilled endive and pancetta were fabulous atop mandolined fennel and apple in a very light vinaigrette. The tangy salad flavors were deliciously complemented by full flavored gorgonzola.
I enjoyed the hangar steak for an entree. It was perfectly cooked (ordered medium, came medium/medium rare) and seasoned. The beef was well-marbled and tender. Its buttery and char-grilled flavor was beautifully complemented by the smoky tomato basil emulsion that accompanied it. As well, the cauliflower and sherry risotto was rich and layered. My daughter had the seared free-range roasted chicken. I was invited to taste a bite; it was moist, delicious, and very well seasoned. The accompanying swiss chard and carrots were lovely, and the potato gratin was outrageously delicious.
We shared a fantastic chocolate confection for dessert, as we savored the special meal and continued to enjoy the beautiful evening. Different Pointe of View is a gem!
