I grew up in Hawaii, so good poke is not something I can pass up very often. I have been to Paina Cafe once before and I did enjoy it, but the poke wasn't as flavorful as I typically like it to be. If you live in Vegas and love poke, you're probably familiar with Poke Express. And if you are, then you will know what I mean by flavorful. This was my second time giving Paina a try. And while the fish was fresh, I still didn't feel like I enjoyed it as much as I normally would at Poke Express. The shoyu ahi was bland and the Hawaiian style was meh. I left with a mostly onion flavor in my mouth, (which is fine, because I like onion) but onion generally shouldn't have been the main takeaway from that poke bowl. I give it 4 stars because the service was great and the place looked spectacular. The poke needs some kicking up!
