  • I was so excited to try The Prune as my friends had raved about it and I left, 25 min later with 2 donuts and the urge to never go back. I was intrigued by the made to order donut concept especially the hot out of fryer part. Part of the 25 min was our fault, we decided to go on National Donut day which they had a special, buy a drink and get a free donut. The place was packed, close to 30-40 people in the tiny space, most of which were standing in a line that never moved. We somehow got to the front of the line, ordered our donuts and moved to the back of the store to wait on our 2, made to order donuts. Even though the place was packed, the staff there seemed to have no sense of urgency to complete orders. Since the line wasn't moving, they weren't overwhelmed with orders but no one really seemed to be making donuts. There were 5 people working and 2 donut making stations set up but only one person at a time actually made the donuts and that was after they stared at the order form for a minute. After the long wait, we finally got our donuts and left. The donuts themselves were just ok, I've had better from a gas station (Casey's Donuts, if you are from the Midwest you know what I am talking about) and the whole experience was just not that great.
