rev:text	This is another thing that is part of my plan not to pay full price for any cosmetic treatment if I can do better with a group buy voucher. I succumbed to the temptation of drastically reduced cost laser vouchers for Beauty Bar Laser clinic and dreamt about saying goodbye to waxing and shaving. The blurb also promised that it was pain free thanks to their Soprano XL laser. Sounded perfect! Making an appointment had to be done by phone. The website is pretty useless and just a page. They do offer evening appointments though which means it's possible to fit treatments into a work day. I went with the Yorkville location because it's handy, and also because I had this idea that it might be their nice location. The girl on the phone was friendly and helpful so I felt pretty confident. Unfortunately they also always confirm appointments by phone so I always miss them (work) and have to call back. Wish they'd text or email. The first day I arrived I tottered down the steps to the basement location (it's also Bellair Tan) a bit early. The girl on reception expected me to call out which areas were being treated-while I stood next to the man waiting beside me. I wasn't thrilled. I was early and the therapist took me in early. I don't remember her name, but I do know that the waiting man was her father and he was waiting for her. She brought me into the treatment room which was tiny and had a man's coat and a handbag hanging on the door. She left me to get undressed and I looked around for towels etc but didn't see any so went with a kind of semi dressed approach instead. She was pleasant but seemed a bit rushed. The whole thing was over in a few minutes. It was painless but seemed VERY quick. It all seemed really rough and ready. I saw some results after the first treatment which was encouraging. For the second treatment, I left a lecture early to get there on time...only to end up waiting 20 mins past my appointment time. The girl was different and very sweet. Again it was very quick and was painless. I didn't notice much of a result though. The third time was this week. I was warned ahead of time that they had double booked accidentally and that she was running behind. I wasn't actually waiting that long though. I had a different girl again this time. I'm really sorry I can't remember her name because she was excellent. Friendly, very thorough and very dedicated to doing her job well. She was generous with towels and made me feel comfortable. She spent much longer on each area making absolutely sure every single bit had been covered. It was more uncomfortable but I'd take that if it means it will actually work. I know I'm paying a discount rate, but it's still not for free and if I get nothing out of it I'll be so cross! I was thrilled to hear she's hoping to stay in the Yorkville location full time. I would be infinitely happier with my treatment with her. They were hovering at a 2 star until that treatment. I'm left with very mixed feelings. After my first treatment I absolutely couldn't recommend the place to some friends (the ones with standards) because it seemed to be such a budget experience. I didn't think they'd appreciate it! My most recent experience was much better though so has dragged it up a little in my estimation. I hope I have the same therapist again. If I do I can recommend it freely. For now, it's more of a watch this space....
