| - I never write reviews, but I felt like I had to because of how disgusted I am with the way multiple employees have spoken to me after FINALLY getting someone to pick up the phone (I apologize for how long this is, but I'm livid).
There were two reasons for me calling:
1. I ordered several swatches of fabric for the bridesmaids dress I wanted all SIX of my bridesmaids to order from Schaffer's (thats a decent amount of business, right?!)
2. To find out more information about the price of the bridesmaids dress I wanted them to order.
Let's first start with the swatch fiasco. I ordered 5 swatches on August 13th and was immediately charged $97 for them. I was told they would be delivered in about 2-4 weeks. Flash forward to mid September and still no word about my swatches, so I called to find out where they were. I kid you not, I called 10 times, multiple days, no answer, left voicemails, no one returned my calls. I finally get a hold of someone several days later and they said that the swatches shouldn't be taking so long and that the hold up must be because of their recent move. They said they should be in soon and they will call when they arrive. Did I mention I also have to go pick them up at the store??? Couldn't they have just shipped them directly to me...and avoided all this waiting due to their move???? Nope.
Anyway, I called yesterday (TWO WHOLE MONTHS after I placed the order...for little pieces of fabric!!!) and spoke to the worst human ever, Audrey. She was extremely rude and condescending, and after I asked if they could refund the money because I never received the swatches, she magically discovered that "they actually just arrived today". That's comical. She also told me that all swatches take 2 months and that they definitely told me that when I ordered them. No, Audrey, that's a blatant lie because I wouldn't wait 2 months and spend $100 to see a stupid piece of fabric.
So, anyway, she said she would speak to her manager about a refund, and I'm delighted to tell you that I received a snotty voicemail from "Shontelle" (probably spelled that wrong) saying that they definitely WON'T refund my money. Audrey clearly got her customer service skills from this gem. Congrats on being miserable humans.
Issue #2: the dress I wanted my bridesmaids to order was $220 at the bridal store my sister tried it on at in Chicago (and at multiple stores online), so I called to ask why they were selling it for $240? The woman I spoke to asked for the name of the bridal store and said they could match the price, which I thought was awesome. I asked if we could also still get the 20% off for ordering 5 or more dresses at once, and she assured me that we could.
When I called back a few weeks later to get more details about my 6 bridesmaids ordering their dresses, I mentioned that someone I spoke to previously said they would honor the $220 and then the 20% discount, only to be basically laughed at by the person on the phone, who claimed the be the manager (not sure if that means it was Shontelle, but if they have more than one manager that's that unpleasant, I truly don't know how they're still in business). She said there was no way they could do both, I could either get the dresses for $220 with no discount or pay more than the dress is actually worth to get the discount? Makes perfect sense...???? Pshhhh pleaseee
Anyway, their terrible customer service resulted in me and my 6 bridesmaids buying our dresses elsewhere. Oh, and I'm also calling my credit card company to dispute the $97 charge for the swatches I never received.
This dump is a pathetic excuse for a bridal store. I got my dress at Mariee and loved everything about it. Schaffer's is filthy and the entire staff should be fired (except Missy, I liked her a lot).
Thanks for nothing, ladies!!!!!
End of rant. :-)
