  • Behind the unassuming door in a little alley, without an indication this is street number 512, is one of the cosiest and most comfortable bar rooms I've been recently at. The space is small, two sections, one occupied mainly by the bar and another with shining in the dark flamingo coloured leather seats. The mirrored ceiling reflects the candlelights and creates this beautiful feeling of space, and intimate atmosphere. Of course the magic is perfect, when you are one of the first visitors, after 9pm some noisy clients will make whatever possible to disperse the enchantment. The name cocktail club indicates we will be ordering cocktails. The cocktail list is one page and the mixes are original on paper. My first round is version of something as Old Fashioned made with Maker's Mark, elaborate cocktail, the arrival of which is absolutely boring as compared with the drink of my friend, her glass is under cover all surrounded with smoke, our reaction is wow and both cocktails taste good. Second round, I go for the Atwater Melon, too much crushed ice and not enough rum. My friend obtained something she likes, but the ice problem persists, the tall glass has a tall and thick stick of ice that occupies most of the space and leaves little for the actual liquid mix. I have to say now, the whole ice cubes are amazing, they are clear and translucent, exactly the big ice cubes should be in professional cocktail bars, but they are just too big, besides the fact the drinks were not too boozy anyway. The bloody caesar is not on the list, we of course obtained it, yet I find the drink quite ordinary. Later I realize the cocktail is on the list of the neighbouring Foiegwa restaurant that is owned by the same people. The food menu is small, obviously the kitchen of Foiegwa takes care of everything. We focused on the appetizers, my radishes with butter from local farm were a great snack and I'm certainly planning to come back for some fried frog legs. Not sure if I will experiment with cocktails during the next visit. Strangely enough I did not see wine list on the menu as opposed to solid and expensive champaign list, and some six pages of liqueurs typed in small characters. Overall experience is 3.5 starts, but I will definitely give this place another chance. It is superb bar for a date or just a drink with friends.
