  • I'm always in search of a new nail salon, no matter if I have one that I always love. For this particular reason, I went looking for a nail salon closer to my place of work so I can just do my nails and go to work right after. After much research I came across Social Nail Bar on Yelp and decided to try it. Last night, I noticed that Social Nail Bar actually accepts Appointment Requests via Yelp. So I decided to send a message requesting a Gel Full Set in shorter Coffin Shape. The Owner, Caryn, was the one who replied. She asked if I would like Nail Art, of which I declined, and quickly scheduled me for 11am appointment for today (Saturday). The Nail Salon itself is part of the District in Green Valley but it is in an offset strip of shops behind the Lucille's BBQ. The decor is modern and inviting. The reception area is right in front of the doors and you're immediately greeted by someone behind the desk. I was directed to sign in on a iPad to join for loyalty points. Behind the nail technicians is a large shelf full of nail polishes. and along the other wall are the pedicure chairs. The salon itself has a very long marble bar/table where you get your manicures, fills, and sets. There are TVs mostly playing youtube music/videos. Very modern. Then, shown color selections on a palette. My technician was Kathi, who was very sweet. She nailed (pun intended) my short coffin shaped nails. I like that Kathi hand shaped the coffin, and took the time to make it even and appropriate for my nail bed. I chose a simple light pink nude color as it makes it less noticeable when my nails grow out. Minus one star because when I walked out , I noticed that a couple of my fingers were painted somewhat sloppy, but all in all a good place to go. I paid $67 dollars, with 20% tip ($11) (I always over tip at nail salons). That included the Gel Full Set and the Coffin shape ($7). So that makes sense. I've paid way more in California for half the quality.
