| - We looked around for a videographer and were immediately captivated by the highlight reel that Kustom Films put on their website. We had thought about going with a more expensive highly rate videographer, but could not afford them. I spoke with Corey at Kustom Films and he was very open to filming our wedding how we wanted.
Communicating with Corey was a challenge at times. You have to always leave a voicemail and then he'll call you back sometimes. If you are okay with this, then it won't bother you. Emails were also usually returned within 24 hours...this can be a challenge when you are on a timeline. One reason why we booked them is because Cory said they were based in Las Vegas. This is not true...during one conversation, Corey told me that they are only in Las Vegas a couple of times a month but are based in Los Angeles.
We set up a payment schedule. More money than was agreed on was charged on the first payment. Since I had budgeted only so much to be charged, Corey promised a 2nd videographer and all raw footage on Dropbox for my inconvenience. I moved money around to make this work and agreed to these terms.
I am glad I saved my email to reflect the 2nd videographer because on the day of the wedding EVERYTHING went smoothly EXCEPT a 2nd videographer did not show up. Corey refused to take my call as I, the frantic bride, was trying to get this fixed. He told the other videographer that there was only one listed on the contract. He never amended the contract. If anything needs to be amended, require an update contract be sent to you to be signed. A second videographer did show up a couple of hours later, after I was clearly upset that Corey went against what I was promised. Again, it was through my frustrations and insisting that he called a second one. Corey had also promised my husband and me that he'd be shooting our wedding...in reality, he hired outside videographers to do the job.
We saw our highlight reel and LOVED it! Corey did an amazing job editing the highlights of our wedding to a song I found on YouTube and put it together beautifully.
According to the contract, it takes up to 90 days to get the wedding video to you. And, it will take 90 days. We got our video and it was edited great! The music was perfect. I wish there were interviews with guests and more shots of other elements of our wedding - the outside synagogue, pan of the room, photo booth, candy table, Dj, up lighting, food. None of this was filmed.
Overall, I'm not sure I would recommend Kustom Films because of the frustrations I've encountered. If you do go with them, just make sure you do the following: 1) get anything additional in writing on a new contract, 2) give specifics of what you want videoed. You might assume it will be, but don't assume, 3) If you are promised the Drop Box link, make sure that you download it right away. Nowhere are you ever told you'd have a limited time to view and download the raw footage. Cory, the owner, assumed a couple of weeks was enough and took it down without checking to see if we had viewed it and downloaded it. When I emailed him, he promised to have it back up soon, but that was delayed a week. Finally, when it's up, you're promised two weeks and it's only up for 11 days, not 2 weeks. This can get VERY frustrating! When he finally downloaded it again, he was very rude in his email to me wanting to know where my review was. I review vendors at the completion of their work, not in the middle. Plus, it took him 90 days to get the video to us and he wanted a review immediately. Very unprofessional!
UPDATE: I am not a disgruntled bride, in fact everyone said I was the calmest bride they'd ever seen. I got along with and loved all of my other vendors. I see that the year since my wedding, EVERYONE who dealt with Kustom Films had a similar experience like I did. Wish there were reviews like these before I spent a lot of money on the only vendor that I regretted hiring!
