  • Large facility store on King Street West. It has all the essentials for the adventurous outdoors person into the following activities: canoeing, biking, backpacking, camping in the woods, or even pitching a tent to make out in with your lover like in that movie, Brokeback Mountain. This is also pretty much a Toys R Us for a wealthy hippy as a lot of the items are quite pricey. . I've been a member of this co-op store for over 5 years now as you need a co-op membership to buy stuff at this store ($5 membership). I have bought a few MEC backpack items over the years that were well made and I noticed a steady decline in the material quality of their newer MEC brand backpacks in stock appears to be made of recycled plastic and mesh gathered from NASA's disposal yard.
