  • AVOID. This venue was not designed for the shows that HOB is presenting. First, you go through a weird security line and scanning in the middle of the casino. Next, you walk down a bunch (two floors) of stairs to get into HOB. After that, you walk into what is basically a bar/restaurant with a dance floor. There are multiple staircases, and I hate to think about what would happen if a fire broke out. I didn't see any mobility impaired options. Important- don't EVER get GA tickets. Go VIP(ay), or not at all. HOB ropes off every single place to sit, many which are in awkward places for this setup (example- directly across from the long bar, which messes up walking traffic by limiting the space). At the front, there is even a dedicated "upgrade to VIP" standing desk (in place of a hostess desk). I would think that this setup would affect the "maximum capacity" limit, since so many GA people are jammed into less than 1/2 of the venue, but I guess the numbers (people per square foot) end up looking the same. But, it seems unsafe. Last night, the Dan Band show was supposed to start at 7:30, but the opening act didn't even begin until around 8:30. Long wait. The stage was also too small for the Dan Band to do a lot of their act. Basically, there was no room for cool props at HOB, so there weren't any. Sad. In the future, I'll just skip House of Blues, because there are better venues that also offer $14 beers in Vegas and free seats with a ticket.
