  • EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Go somewhere else, not here. My DataLink/OnBoardDiagnostics Connector (the socket where they, or other mechanics, plug in their machine to read the car's data) had fallen out of its mounting bracket. (Probably because I had the lower dashboard recently replaced at the dealership.) So the guy failed me. Not like he couldn't have just reached up in there and plugged right in anyway. And he reported the issue to the DMV into a category titled "Tampered." So now I have 'sneaky slimeball' recorded somewhere within my permanent DMV record. And I still had to pay the testing fee. That was $24 ... WITH the coupon (that is intentionally vague regarding the price and discount) ... and nothing about a free car wash, either. You can beat that price just about anywhere else. Thanks dude, you are a real pro ... a minimum-wage pro ... but still a pro, nonetheless. I had to go somewhere (chosen from a list of authorized repair locations) to have someone use two self-tapping screws to put the connector back firmly in the bracket. And pay for a second smog test. The car passed, of course. I am quite sure the tech was hoping I would come back to Jiffy Smog to pay for the second test. (Take note of other reviewers below reporting failed tests.) Instead he got Jiffy Smog this negative Yelp review. RECOMMENDATION: Use another location, the valley is brimming with them. Unless you want to pay for this tech's power-tripping.
