I only fly business or first class and usually it's paid for by the company I work for so I don't always have the choice of airline. I end up flying Air Canada to Toronto a lot and the airline is usually selected because it's the cheapest but I get business class as that's in my contract although the choice of airline is not. Very very strange but every time I fly Air Canada I always get the most rude people at the counter. I can not figure out why. I always go in super polite because I'm wary of airline workers being over worked and what I sense with this airline is a culture of anger and resentment. My bet is it's a top down issue. If you have a nice boss you're generally going to be happy and they will hire nice people. But mean bosses hire mean people and make life horrible for their employees and inspire meanness toward customers. No other explanation of why every flight I get so much attitude when I'm just trying to get back and forth and I'm super nice to everyone. I've sent letters to corporate with names and details every encounter and I get nothing back. They really don't care which confirms the top down theory.
