| - Shari M. did a great job summarizing this little gem. Everything from the décor, to the pies, to the service was excellent, and won instant raves from our table.
As the last pit stop on the pie crawl, the Pie Shack is a wonderful place to enjoy dessert. It's a comfortable and relaxing spot, away from the busy core on the Beaches' strip. With the combination of the bad weather and eating dessert in the middle of the afternoon, my experience was a good one. The owner (or perhaps co-owner) Tim was very helpful and gracious to us from the moment we stepped through the door. He took the time to attend to our needs such as supplying a fresh pot of coffee on our table for example, and also taking a moment to talk with us and get our impressions on his product.
For my choice of pie I chose bumbleberry, which I would recommend. Each morsel got better and better, and also thanks to the delicious helping of vanilla ice cream on the side. As for the crust, it was flakey and delicious! The way a pie crust should be, which made me very happy and I complimented Tim for it.
But I do have one little disappointment: as a person who lives west of Bathurst, it's a little unfair that the Pie Shack located in the Beaches. It does offer good enough incentive to visit it again. So, I'll say it: you East Enders are so lucky!
