| - I was staying at the Arizona Grand with some friends, and we didn't feel like paying the prices at the pool, so we ventured over to Aunt Chilada's assuming we could get some inexpensive Mexican grub. I managed to keep my meal cheap (one corn tamale, with green enchilada sauce, beans, greens, and rice was $9.95), but I was really surprised by the high prices.
There are so many GOOD Mexican restaurants in the Phoenix area, with a nicer, cleaner ambiance than Chilada's, so I don't understand the high prices, except that the restaurant sits on hotel property.
Service was fine -- our server wasn't particularly nice, but she often refilled our $3 icea teas, and food was brought out in a prompt manner. Food was OK -- I'm not crazy for chunky salsa, so I avoided the chips and salsa, but my food was cooked adequately. The food was drowned in cheese though, which was off-putting.
