| - I found this place while searching for "cheap eats Montréal" and this was the cheapest of the eats I found--that was actually good! For ~$14 CAD I got a burger (with added cheese) and added poutine and a salad and 2 beers. It was 100% worth it.
I got there around lunch time, just before the rush and I really enjoyed watching the one grill cook bang out all of the dishes and cook everything to order. I sat right at the counter and was privy to everyone's conversations, their orders as well as everything going on outside, too. Now, this place is SMALL. Probably 400 sq ft of space total, including the WC.
As far as the food goes, it was just okay. I had my first Canadian poutine here and it was truly just okay. There were fries, curds and gravy, but it was sincerely just that. No frills. The burger was on a very cheap bun but it was also $2.50, so I am not complaining--just stating lol
I'd eat here again if I were in the Saint-Laurent 'hood. Just know that if/when you go, there may be a line out the door, but it will move quickly.
