  • My friend came into town for a quick pit stop and she picked this place for dinner. I looked the place up prior to coming and was excited to try it out. We started off with drinks. I got the rosé and she got the iced green tea. The rosé was light and fruity. The iced green tea was really good. I will be ordering that next time. It tastes like matcha water. It's not tea-like if that makes sense. For an appetizer, we ordered the kara-age chicken. It is fried chicken pieces. The chicken is very lightly battered in an airy coating and then fried. I really didn't care for the sauce that it came with. I didn't dislike it but there were better options on the table to dip the chicken into. The tsunami roll came with a good sauce and the sushi chef made me a side bowl of it to dip my chicken in. It was a decent sized app for the cost. I would order this again. For the rolls, we order three of them: tsunami, citrus, and Zen. The tsunami roll was my favorite. The roll was lightly battered and fried. The was slightly crunchy and not oily at all. Re sauce it came with was miso based and it was amazing. I used the sauce on everything. I even got the recipe. For the citrus roll, the citrus flavor wasn't overpowering but also wasn't on the mild side. It went really nicely with the fish. The Zen roll compared to the other two was pretty soft in flavor, which was nice since there was already so much going on with the other two. The Zen roll had masago on top so that added a nice crunchy and pop to the roll. The ingredients were fresh. We were there pretty late and had the opportunity to watch them prepare the fresh fish for the following day. I would definitely come back here again.
