A few months ago, I decided I wanted to dye my hair a deep violet. I am Asian and felt that it would be better to go to an Asian person who knew Asian hair. Every time I went, they kept suggesting I bleach my hair a little first in order to make the violet show up better, but I refused because I was too scared about the damage the bleach would do to my hair. I was recently referred to Jean Marc Levy to touch up the color on my hair as almost all of the previous color had faded. He and his fiancee were super friendly and made me feel immediately at ease that they knew what they were doing. He assured me that balayage was his specialty and also recommended I lift my dark hair color with bleach first. I felt very comfortable with him and did not object. He mixed up a couple different strengths of bleach to give my hair color more dimension and proceeded to work his magic. I love my new violet balayage and my hair still feels perfectly healthy despite the bleach. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair color and am very happy with the final result.
