This was the first place I ate at when we moved to Toronto a month or two ago.
I walked in, stood in a long but extremely quick line and ordered a mixed plate.
It came with salad, rice, chicken and beef as well as some white sauce, BBQ sauce which I didn't try because it did not seem to go with the dish and some hot sauce.
When the girl asked me if I would like it spicy I told her very spicy please and she gave me a stern warning that this is not like Popeyes Louisiana spicy sauce.
I really do eat pretty darn spicy food and I get this warning everywhere I go from Chipotle to Indian restaurants and didn't think much of it from a fast food joint.
I got home and decided to lick the sauce of the top of my lid. Welcome to flavor country my friends. . .
My gosh! I was shocked as to how spicy it was. I went over to the fridge and looked for a drink. Nothing in sight since it was our first day in our new place.
I went to look for a cup and nothing was unpacked yet.
I finally put my mouth on the tap and turned it on.
Nothing came out . . .
Turns out that a fire hydrant outside blew and the water will be shut off for a few more hours.
Needless to say, the struggle was real and the 30 degree + weather was no help.
I have since been back 5 or 6 times and really do love the food as well as the uncensored spiciness.
Tip: Ask for spicy sauce in packets on the side if you are a first timer. If you don't like spicy food at all you can simply ask for no hot sauce!
