| - I'm sorry to be leaving a negative review, but I can't recommend Karima.
The cut and color that I got weren't awful, but they weren't exactly what I asked her to do. Can't say I liked the quality either. The bangs were cut rather sloppily, there were leftover strands of the previous length here and there that were getting into my eyes, so I had to cut them myself when I got home. Also after getting home, I discovered that there were significantly more highlights on one side of my head compared to the other side.
I was trying to explain what I wanted, but Karima didn't seem to listen too carefully and just kept saying that I shouldn't worry and kept talking about everything else in the world but my hair. Not exactly what you want when going to a hair salon. She got the general style right, but didn't do the specifics that I asked her to. For example, I asked for more highlights around the face, she didn't do it. It felt like she had a vision for my haircut and color and other details didn't matter to her. It was a matter of luck that her vision partially matched mine.
The whole cut took her about 5 minutes, she didn't check for symmetry or for stray uncut strands behind the ears (common issue with my cut, hairdressers usually catch them at the last "verification" stage).
The resulting price wasn't cheap. Not completely unreasonable, but definitely higher than what I would expect from a place that's marked with "$$" on Yelp. Now that I'm looking at it, it was also much higher than the prices listed on Art's website. There might have been an additional service added to the bill that I didn't order (a blowout?)
Overall, I didn't like the experience and won't be coming back.
