| - We made a reservation to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary and paid a 50% deposit. The celebration was for my husbands parents. My husband is a firefighter, as is his brother. My husband was sent last week to SoCal to fight fires, his brother, held on duty. We called with 8 days notice to cancel, as the celebration is for their parents, and they are unable to be here. At first, no refund of deposit...then, just 1/3. Then, after my review, we received another 1/3, so in good faith, I took down my review. Reassured by his additional payment, I was confident he would make us whole, or, provide a reasonable alternative.
We have repeatedly asked for a copy of the confirmation email and a copy of his cancelation policy, and to date, have not received anything.
At our last correspondence he indicated he is "done" and requested we "stop". I'm disappointed in the lack of professionalism displayed and, lack of understanding that our cancelation is the result of a natural disaster.
This was not a change of our mind or plans, it was a circumstance beyond our control. Absurdly poor business. Will not recommend.
Update: the owner continues to behave unprofessionally. Extremely disappointing.
UPDATE: the owner just messaged me "insane person you will get your money when your trap is closed"
UPDATE: after being inundated with messages via text, yelp and FB messenger the owner is threatening me with legal action for this yelp review.
This review is factual, professional and fair. It reflects what Yelp is meant to be, honest reviews by customers. It will not be removed. I have notified Yelp.

As noted above, I repeatedly asked the owner of the business I honestly reviewed to discontinue contacting me after numerous text messages that we unprofessional and inappropriate. It worked, for a while. His comment is now below, and it is just a glimpse of the harassment I have received for my honest and factual review.
Update: Below is one more example of the types of communication I have dealt with. Name calling, derogatory, inflammatory comments. My sister in law and I have asked, repeatedly asked owner to stop contacting us. To no avail.
