  • I had a very disappointing experience. I have purchased a lot of items from Pottery Barn in general. I was excited to know there was one close to me. I have now been in twice and both times I was treated poorly initially. Had to find a salesperson on my own to check on items. This particular visit yesterday was terrible. I was exchanging some items that I had bought from my recent $500 purchase and I just wanted to exchange for something with more design. The first salesperson I approached acted like I wasn't at the register and continued her conversation with the other salesperson when she was finished she turned to me and asked is that a return. I said yes I just need to exchange a few pillow covers for something with more color. She said nothing and proceeded to enter the items for return. She issued a credit then no further help went back to her conversation. Terrible! I proceeded to look on my own and luckily found a very nice salesperson named Marie. She went out of her way to find different options (this is the only reason I am giving a 2 and not a 1 cause of her). Then I found many more items proceeded to check out. In my bag I had two other pillow covers I was contemplating exchanging and at that point of finding many great things I was well over $300 again. I decided I would return the last two items which had tags but were purchased over 90 days so the salesperson had to get a manager to approve. The EXTREMELY rude manager said we can not take that return it's well over time limit. I said I have receipt and they have tags. The previous salesperson said they were now on sale so I would have to take sales price. I had said fine no problem I understand but the very rude manager said absolutely not. I said Marie just finish ringing me no problem. This is where it gets AWFUL! I finished paying for my order and then I wanted to look at an area rug. Marie said you can save shipping if you deliver to store. I said oh that's great. I had her look up some to see. She had a question to ask store manager so she came up once again with the WORST attitude. Marie asked could we order this one to save her shipping, manager said NO. I asked if it was a softer material than the sisel she said yes. I wasn't yet done with my conversation I had a few questions to ask and she walked away. The salesperson was shocked as well. Said to me if there is anything I can help you with let me know. She gave me her card and was embarrassed. I said to the salesperson I guess she (the manager) doesn't have time for me. I understand that some things are company policy but the delivery and attitude with it was so bad. I will not be shopping further in this store.
