| - On vacation from California, I had a mild heart attack, and I was taken to Valley Hospital Medical Center. Overall, during my 10-day stay, I was in the MICU, the SICU and Two North. My wife (who also had heart surgery several years ago) and I were impressed not only at the level and quality of care, but even the food was surprisingly reasonable. In all three wards, the nurses were extremely responsive, and I never had any long waits after I pressed the call button. The doctors kept me informed throughout my ordeal, and most of the nurses were both pleasant and caring. My only negatives were the uncomfortable hospital beds, some of the stereotypical hospital food, and the fact that I went several days feeling particularly grungy from not having bathed.
