  • Phipps is incredibly gorgeous! I love checking out the new shows. Today it was the Bonsai and Orchid show. In the winter it is a special blessing to be able to go where flowers are in full bloom. Just to be able to be around plants and smell them is so soothing for the winter time blues! The show today was really cool! Each room has its own specific theme. The Bonsai trees were in a walkthrough room that smelled a lot like pines. They were really neat with most of them being first "trained" in the 80's or 90's. The orchids were so amazing and the orchid room looked especially beautiful. My favorite of the day. A few of them were fragrant and one in particular smelled like ginger and cloves. I am always impressed by Phipps; especially the winter garden light show they have yearly. If you have not checked it out, you MUST. The staff is always friendly and they have a cafe and a cute (little pricey) shop as well. This past summer I had my wedding here and I give them 5 stars for that too. Nina is such an amazing coordinator. Fast to respond, good pricing and really helped me map out the day so stress levels were at a minimum. Their catering was absolutely delicious and I got so many compliments on it. They also give you lists of vendors that they regularly work with which really helped; especially with my cake! Definitely take a trip to Phipps if you haven't already.
