Stayed here on Sunday and Monday to attend a conference. It appears to be an older hotel that has been remodeled on a budget. They have free parking and I chose it because of my HI membership and the fact it is right off the light rail line so getting around was easy and did not need a rental. If you come to Phoenix, check out the light rail. It runs right through town and is $4 for an all day pass and I think $20 for a week pass. I found it very useful.
When I arrived, I called and asked for the HI Shuttle but it took them almost 30 minutes to pick me and others up. Driver was not friendly and did not apologize for taking so long. That was disappointing. My room was OK, furniture a little rough, especially for a Crowne Plaza, which you pay a premium for normally. Room had Refrig and coffee pot (did not work), beds were clean and it had a floor AC unit. The room had lots of USB ports and AC receptacles. No free breakfast but free internet.
Bottom line is it did not meet what I would consider the quality and expectations of a "Crowne Plaza". It was more like a poorly upgraded HI Express. The room was not worth the cost but the location was OK. I give it a reluctant 3 and will try another place next time.
