| - This farmer's market is truly a staple of this city and is THE OG farmer's market. Years ago, I'd been here before when it was a much smaller scale and now it's a completely different ball game. There are multiple buildings that you can browse filled with flowers, fruits, veggies, coffee, soaps, etc.
The flower vendors offer beautiful, big, colorful arrangements at three different price points: $10, $20, and $30. I have purchased a couple of the $10 arrangements and they have lasted for 3 weeks, tops. They are quite beautiful and big enough to be broken down into multiple arrangements should you want to stretch that dollar.
The main area that houses the produce vendors can get quite tricky. Yes, there are signs that boast the vendors' names and what not, however, the tricky part is understanding whether or not all of their produce truly comes from the state of NC. There is one vendor by the name of Fat Boy's (they're located at the very back and cover about 3-4 tables) that gets their produce from various parts of the country. Now, for most, this isn't a big deal, but I'm just throwing it out there in case you feel inclined to ask.
In addition to produce, you can browse for potted plants, handmade soaps, coffee, meats, and more. As mentioned in other reviews, BRING CASH!
This place is definitely something you want to allow time for. Thanks to the varied produce (you can find some Asian fruits & veggies here), you may leave inspired to pick up something new for dinner!
