If I were emerging from the wilderness cold, wet and starving, I would be grateful indeed to come across the Uptown Diner. In a world where I had a choice, however, I would exercise it and dine elsewhere. The single server was simply overwhelmed, and she shouted across the room to her customers, which made for a grating experience. Because she was alone, the service was excruciatingly slow. When my food came, it was pedestrian--an Oscar Meyer quality club sandwich and frankly nasty fries. I discarded half my meal.
