| - I purchased a manicure/pedicure on groupon in November which expires in February. In December, I called to make an appointment and the gentleman who answered said it was only available on Wednesdays. It didn't say that anywhere on groupon when I bought it, but fine, not the end of the world. In the second week of January, I called to make an appointment, again stating I had a groupon and I wanted to make an appointment. The lady said: when do you want to come in? (So clearly it wasn't only applicable on Wednesdays now, fine again.) I scheduled an appointment for the following week and came in. When I showed up, they said they stopped honoring groupons as of January 1.
I should've left, but thought since I was already here, I'll stay (bad on me and clearly their strategy worked.)
I use groupon plenty of times and understand that companies choose to discontinue working with them, then I would've just requested a refund online and gone somewhere else. You DON'T NOT TELL YOUR CUSTOMER UNTIL they show up when I specifically called in January stating I purchased one and wanted to redeem it when you already clearly stopped accepting them. Another lady showed up after me and was told the same thing.
The salon has a small color selection (about half gel) so for a regular mani pedi I actually had a hard time finding a color I like. Whereas at most salons you are bombarded with selections.
While I got a standard mani/pedi, i all the salons I've been to, they typically do a calf/leg massage and hand massage. They did not do that here, again that's not a big deal, just another observation.
My nail technician was nice. That was the only pro.
