rev:text	Popped in here the other night as me and my friend were looking for some food in the area. The menu at Marcy is very small and appeared to just be cheese, veggie, meat plates. We figured we might as well stay and have a drink and snack a little to tie us over until we went to a restaurant, but the veggie plate we ordered ended up tying us over. My friend didn't like the pickled elements, but I didn't mind so much. There was some good avocado, plump green olives, and various spreads to slap on some bread and make tasty combinations. The place filled up quite a bit in the time we were there. The atmosphere is okay, but I feel like the back area has an unfinished look. It reminds me of one of those dodgy social clubs you walk past now and again. I think in time the place could develop more character. They have a couple antique signs posted by the booths, and it appears they kept the old LaLa Bistro sign that existed before they moved in. More nice little touches like this would improve the vibe. They have a jukebox... Now I always like the idea of a jukebox in a bar, but as a DJ I feel it always fails to create a consistent musical backdrop for a venue. The gaps between songs, different genres, and fluctuating volume levels are all downsides to jukeboxes. Still, I couldn't help taking a look at what they had to offer. From what I could tell it's a lot of classic rock and stuff like Usher and Destiny's Child thrown in as well. I never put anything on because I couldn't find three good songs. I'll be coming back though. The waitress seemed a little spaced-out but she was certainly energetic. And the pint of Steam Whistle I had tasted fresh and delicious.
