This trail is awesome! It's 2.5 miles long and takes about 2 hours. It's considered a moderate level trail, but it's honestly pretty easy. The hike to the tanks is slightly uphill, but that makes the downhill hike back even faster and more worthwhile! ;)
I would highly recommend bringing water and putting some sunscreen on before heading out on this trail.
What I really love about this trail is that it's easy enough where you can just hike it with some friends and hold a conversation the entire way. Or, if you want to shake it up a bit, you can stray off the beaten path and scramble a bit and make the trail a bit more interesting and fun. Also, I love that there's a destination at the "end" (or more like midway point since you have to turn around), so you have some sense of accomplishment. Also, if you go a bit past the tanks and up the rocks, you get this gorgeous deserty view of the strip and Vegas. It's just a few yards past the tanks and definitely worth going to see once.
This hike is doable for a beginner, first timer, or for a group of friends who just want a quick and short hike. I also saw lots of dogs and kids and families on this trail. Can't wait to go back to Red Rock!
