Ok....I had an EXTREMELY bad first visit to Wash Wizard in April 2014 due to the owner deciding to berate me in front of his staff...at the top of his lungs..due to me having the audacity to ask for fresh hand towels for drying my vehicle.
Without going into additional detail on that first visit; being a forgiving person at heart, I decided a year later to give the owner and his business a second chance.
On this visit I did not see the owner as he is oftentimes in his office on premise but I did see him afterwards while I was completing the cleaning of my vehicle.
Wash Wizard prides itself on giving exceptional service and car washes for all vehicles with a supposed niche for handling luxury vehicles.
Well this was hands down one of the worst car washes I have received in quite some time. My vehicle (as others have mentioned in the past) still had numerous spots that were missed by the young guys handling the hand washing as well as the young guys handling the drying. In particular I asked to have the main focus of the wash to be my vehicles wheels and my children could have done a better job on the wheels than what the young guys at Wash Wizard did. I can understand if one of the young guys in the wash bay misses an area...but I dont understand that same area being missed by the guys manning the drying area.
The main areas that seem to be an issue for the staff at Wash Wizard is that they invariably miss cleaning the bottom portion of vehicles as well as lower quarter panels, wheels and the area around the rear license plate.
This could be due to the speed that the vehicles are pulled through the wash bay and I suspect the hand washers get a bit tired and dont expend the effort necessary to reach down and clean the bottom portion of vehicles and or the wheels and quarter panels. This might not be as much of an issue on coupes but on 4 door sedans (and from what i have read from other former customers) and SUV's it is.
To sum up..if you have a economy coupe with a few miles on it and dont really care if your car is not truly clean after a car wash (you dont mind a few spots missed here and there and or dont mind your wheels not getting cleaned etc) Wash Wizard is great. But if you do have a vehicle that you do care about in terms of its appearance or you have a luxury vehicle, steer clear of Wash Wizard and either wash your vehicle by hand on your own or just visit one of the better hand wash establishments in Scottsdale or Glendale.
Now I am certain the owner will respond to my post and mention that I should come back in so that my vehicle can be washed again so that I can see the high standards that his establishment has set in terms of hand car washes. I will decline in advance as 2 tries (especially me coming back in at all after the awful behavior of the owner during my first visit in 2014) is enough for me.
Finally, the young guys working at Wash Wizard are extremely nice. They were nice to me last year after I was yelled at by the owner and to be honest they are probably the main reason I decided to come back in a second time. They are more than likely ASU or community college students. I made sure to leave a nice tip for them both visits to Wash Wizard and if you visit please do the same...
